2FA is a “signing in” security process in which a user is required to provide two separate authentication factors in order to access an account or system.

The purpose of two-factor authentication is to provide an additional layer of security beyond just a password, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access to sensitive intel or systems.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security procedure that involves two separate means of verifying the identity of an individual who is trying to gain access to secure online accounts.

This procedure usually involves something only the user knows (such as a password or PIN number) and something the user possesses (such as a one-time code sent via text message or generated by an authentication app) and something that they are (such as their fingerprints or facial biometrics).

2FA provides added protection against hackers and identity theft, making it much more difficult for unauthorized users to access your accounts.

It can be used for any transaction where secure login is required, such as online banking, crypto wallets, purchasing items online and logging into social media.
