This is a tradecraft series of intel about the specific methods of enacting deception; how to lie and deceive for strategic applications as a covert operative in the field or as a civilian in casual engagements.

LINER TRADECRAFT

Enacting deception takes infinitely more cognizant effort as it requires ongoing maintenance from inception to the life of each individual lie. Whereas as sincerity requires just passive memory.

Sincerity is purpose-limited requiring only passive memory, deception is multi-purpose but requires active maintenance.

Preferably, telling (enacting) a convincing lie is the first and only step required for whatever the purpose of the deception is. However, you should expect to have to maintain each individual / specific lie for sometime in the future to preserve its integrity.

Even if the target believes the deception completely at inception, there may come a situation where the target will question the deceit from learning of new information or you may slip up and say or do something to compromise the deception.

While there’s nothing you can do with information beyond your control, you can prevent slipping up or remedy if you do slip up by transcribing deceptions.

REDACTED LOCKER

The physical act of writing / typing alone helps the brain remember it as a “real” memory, instead of a deception being a momentary passing thought.

More importantly, you can always recollect with precision, what the deception was just in case maintenance is required anytime in the future.

Furthermore, using a modified version of the tridirectional decision making method, you can add up to 3 response explanations to reconstruct or recondition each deception in the notes.

Truths endure in our minds and doesn’t require nurture. Lies do need that attention and future diligence, transcribing them is an effective measure,
